what is pilates?

Originally called Contrology, Pilates is a conditioning method created by Joseph H. Pilates over a century ago to create a balanced mind and body. Pilates utilizes foundational matwork and specific spring-loaded apparatus, designed to assist and enhance your movements.

Pilates develops strength, stretch, stamina, and stability within the body, and awareness and focus within the mind.

Practicing Pilates benefits your posture, spinal health, respiratory system, coordination, and body mechanics. It can aid in pain management, injury recovery and prevention, sports performance, and so much more!
