about diane
Diane Lester is a professional dancer whose performance credits include concert companies, regional theaters, and a Broadway national tour. She has practiced Pilates for 15 years.
Diane was introduced to Pilates as cross-training for dance, and fell in love with Classical Pilates over the course of two years while serving as a practice body for teacher apprentices at the Pilates Studio at TRDance in Norfolk, Virginia (a “second generation” studio, following Joseph Pilates’ lineage). Thanks to consistent private coaching, she experienced total transformation and saw tremendous effects on her daily life—even recovery from some small injuries!
Diane completed her Pilates teacher training in New York City through the globally-recognized Power Pilates education program. She received her 600-hour Classical Pilates Comprehensive Certification as a Scholarship recipient, under Teacher Trainers Jordana Herman and Stephanie West. Her high Mat Certificate test-out scores resulted in immediate recommendation for hire at their Midtown Manhattan Flagship studio, and she later became a Founding Instructor at Power Pilates Flatiron.
Diane considers herself a lifelong learner—in Pilates, and in life!—which allows her to coach with a student-centered mindset, leading with understanding and compassion. As a teacher, she’s known for her keen eye and encouraging spirit.
Her teaching career has spanned Pilates studios, fitness clubs, and physical therapy clinics in New York City and the DC metropolitan area, as well as various online platforms.
She is married to her high school sweetheart, has two little girls, and an Australian Shepherd named Hazel.
